Max Fried was shakier in the Bronx, giving up a… run over just 3.2 innings against Boston, while Foster Griffin (5.0 IP, 2 ER, 4 K) and Nick Martinez (6.0 IP, 3 ER, 4 K) turned in solid-if-unspectacular outings that didn’t factor into the decision either. Turning to today’s slate, Shota Imanaga leads the probables board as the most rostered starter going today with two staffs on board as he takes on Cincinnati, while Braxton Ashcraft, Chase Burns, Framber Valdez, and Zack Wheeler each carry a single roster into their respective starts — Wheeler notably drawing the rematch with the Angels that Sánchez just dominated. A quieter night on the wire otherwise, but plenty of intrigue building for tonight’s results.
